November 2012, LaoWei succeeded in starting his own company in Shenzhen, a wholly foreign owned entity, "WFOE": "LaoWei Chemical Technology Consulting (Shenzhen), Ltd.". After several months of preparing documents and working with the local government in Shenzhen, registration of the company happened in August, another 2 months followed until tax registration, bank account, capital payment etc had been completed.

Now, November 2012, the company is fully functional.

Here the company description in English and Chinese: http://www.laowei-consulting.com

The company is a 100% subsidiary of Dr. Bernhard Wessling's German consulting & investment company BWSI.

A reader of the German version of my book, a German living in China since 30 years, has published a book review:

http://www.sinolandquality.com/Blog/?page_id=435

Übersetzung ins Deutsche

He says: "... remarkable, fascinating book ... describes the life of ordinary, and many more extraordinary people ... with great detail, sympathy and humor. ... In adition to the very vivid description of all this encounters, the book contains great pictures taken by Dr. Wessling in and around Shenzhen. ... It’s certainly not a superficial travel-narrative or ‘How to do business in China’ manual, apparently was not intended to be, it’s much more and gives deeper insight into an extraordinary city and its extraordinary people. Highly recommended reading, for those with (past, present or future) connections to Shenzhen and everybody who has more than superficial interest in China."

One of the lectors, a Chinese with very good English capability, the one who is not a person in the book, told me: "This book is in fact two books. Not only you present your personal experience in China, but you also describe how to approach unknown problems, how you resolved them, and you demonstrate creativity. This can be a textbook for students."

2011-04-04

I am afraid the English version will take a few weeks longer, I am happy to have found three lectors (two of them are also key persons in the book) proofreading and reviewing the book, and I am taking their advices very serious, I am grateful for their diligent review.

2011-03-25

The final proofreading for the second (German) issue of my book about China, about Shenzhen, is almost done. Compared with the first edition, it contains 14 more photos and several pages additional text, has been updated regarding recent events.

The translation into English is ongoing and will be finished by mid of March.

Then, also the English version will be available.

Readers of the first issue told me: "This book about China is different from any other book I have seen before. For the first time, China is described with respect to daily life, and not only as always talking about history, culture, philosophy in an abstract way. This is a really colourful and dynamic book."

Other readers told me: "Your book changed my view about China. I can now much better understand China and Chinese people."

Another reader told me: "I always disliked when people told me about China in a way like 'yes, China is not yet so far as we are, they still are developing', smiling with mild sympathy, as if these people have made the US or Europe so modern and far developed themselves, and as if China needs to go the same way as US or EU did!"
